A different look to the Box-Toppers newsletter
The newsletter on Substack will now feature previews of posts that can be viewed in full robustness on our Box-Toppers.com website
Thanks to readers who have discovered and followed the Box-Toppers baseball newsletter on Substack in the past year.
I'd like to let readers know about a change.
I will begin including only previews of posts in the newsletter. The entire post will still be available, but readers will need to follow a link to take them to the full post on the Box-Toppers.com website.
I’ve come to realize I’m duplicating my efforts by creating a separate version of the post for the Substack newsletter after first compiling the post for the Box-Toppers.com website.
Additionally, the Substack version of the post is a pale imitation of the full robust version on Box-Toppers.com. For example, the website features additional charts for more context and more complete information. On top of this, most charts on Box-Toppers.com can be dynamically sorted by clicking on header columns while those in Substack are limited to mere static images.
Posts on Box-Toppers.com are also often updated after initial publication with breaking news or additional analysis on the day’s action. The website also features complete archives of posts dating back to its inception in 2013, statistical information from the start of player tracking in 1995 and enhanced search capabilities.
Launching the Box-Toppers newsletter on Substack a year ago—on May 26, 2023—was a way to provide email alerts to posts on Box-Toppers.com. But rather than serving as mere alerts, the Substack posts have evolved, becoming near replicas of the primary website posts. So from now on, the newsletter will consist mostly of previews of posts on Box-Toppers.com. I hope you'll find it both convenient and valuable to follow newsletter links and explore the full posts on the main website.
Thank you once again for your support.
Best regards,
Shawn Plank
