Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal is Sunday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day, maintaining second place in season player rankings and extending his lead among American League pitchers.
Also Sunday, Padres pitcher Nick Pivetta rises to third place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning National League Player of the Day honors.
Other Player of the Game winners Sunday include Taylor Trammell of the Astros, Eugenio Suárez of the Diamondbacks and Wilyer Abreu of the Red Sox.
Skubal struck out 11 over 6 2/3 innings, allowing one run, four hits and no walks, in the 2-1 win over the Rangers. Skubal did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the Rangers tied the game after he exited.
